PATRIOT MASCOT
Dallas Baptist University has adopted the American patriot as its official mascot. So, how do we describe a Patriot? A Patriot is faithful. A Patriot seeks justice. A Patriot is fair, moderate, and genuine, both in public and in private. A Patriot has an inspiring presence that brings out the best in others. A Patriot also demonstrates selfless, courageous commitment to his or her fundamental beliefs, and is not afraid of change. Colonial patriotism is the right emphasis for DBU because these qualities blend seamlessly with the DBU mission to produce servant leaders who can integrate faith into their spheres of activity. Servant leadership is an inner spiritual commitment to the welfare of those being led that is empowered by responsiveness to their needs and defined by a clear vision. These are the same qualities represented by the ideal Patriot, who denies self in service and sacrifice to others.

BATTLE AT THE BURG
The Battle at the Burg is an annual late night event kicking off the Patriot Basketball season! Anticipation builds as the night begins with a street party where students are entertained by several fun activities, contests, music and much more. At 10:00 PM the doors open to the Burg Center Patriot spirit squads lead the rally for the Red vs. Blue Basketball games.
HOMECOMING
DBU Homecoming is a traditional, spirit-filled week for both students, faculty, staff, and alumni. This week contains the Greek Life Float Competition, where student organizations get their chance to shine, as they build a life-size structure on the DBU Quad that matches the Homecoming theme and best represents who they are. This week is also home to other events such as the Homecoming Parade and Pep Rally, DBU Extravaganza, the infamous "Mr. Big Chief", Homecoming Tailgate Party, the Patriot Basketball game, and the Student Life Bonfire Bash.
PATRIOT RALLY
Patriot Rally is the official name of DBU’s pep rallies. The student body, as well as faculty and staff, all wear school colors and enjoy a wide variety of entertaining DBU Spirit performances, contests, chants, the DBU Fight Song, and much more. Patriot Rallies take place in in support of the Patriot Athletics teams and other on-campus organizations.

THE REGIMENT CANNON & VICTORY BELL
The Cannon is fired to kick-off large Patriot athletic games and events. Additionally, the cannon is fired after each DBU goal at Patriot Men's and Women's Soccer games and after each DBU Baseball home run at Horner Ballpark. The Victory Bell is rung at the end of home Basketball and Men's and Women's Soccer games to celebrate the WIN!
